Hospitals.

Security in Britain's hospitals has for long raised many questions. Because of the sheer volume of patients and staff passing through the hospitals it has become challenging to monitor the movement of every patient and visitor despite most hospitals being equipped with CCTV cameras and links with local Police stations.

Casualty wards are always the most vulnerable as they are taking patients, some fuelled by drink or drugs, all hours of the day and night.

Baby snatches from maternity hospitals up and down the country have shown that even with the most stringent security it is has become difficult to prevent certain crimes.

Public access to Hospitals should be directed to specific entrances that can be monitored by security staff. In times of civil disobedience, terrorism or disaster, security officers must have the ability to lock down the hospital quickly.

The hospital main lobby, Emergency Department and Veterans Affairs corridor will remain open 24hours a day, 7 days a week. Entrances such as the hospital north lobby and courtyard entrances, are normally locked after 7pm. Access to these areas can only be gained by waving the ID badge in front of the card reader. This technology allows security to monitor staff entering the hospital by name, area, date and time of day.

S2G would implement similar enhanced security systems for such places such as the Operating Theatre, Maternity Ward and Clinical laboratory.

S2G will endeavour to maintain the highest level of security without compromising the very nature of the hospital which must be open and allow people to move freely around the site.
